Nested in the west highlands, with a cool weather most of the year due to its altitude, and an interesting mix of Maya-quiche and Latino population. Xela, as named by the locals, is a favorite destination to many foreigners who are interested in learning Spanish and volunteer in humanitarian organizations. Xela is the second biggest city of Guatemala, but is more like a big countryside town.
HOW TO GET TO XELA?
Linea Dorada departs Guatemala City at 7:00 hrs. And 15:00 hrs. The afternoon bus is NOT available on weekends. The 15:00 hrs. bus is a coaster of max 25 pax. The 7: hrs. is a Pullman type bus, with w/c on board.
Alamo. Departs Guatemala city at 6:00 hrs, 8:00 hrs, 10:30 hrs 12:30 hrs, 15:00 hrs, 16:00 hrs.
