Nested in the west highlands, with a cool weather most of the year due to its altitude, and an interesting mix of Maya-quiche and Latino population. Xela, as named by the locals, is a favorite destination to many foreigners who are interested in learning Spanish and volunteer in humanitarian organizations. Xela is the second biggest city of Guatemala, but is more like a big countryside town.
